Academia Rolear introduces new training programmes designed to enhance technical expertise and improve safety in electrical installations.
The reliability of electrical installations and their ability to withstand disturbances in the grid depend not only on the quality of the equipment, but also on the competence of those who design, install and operate them. Academia Rolear is launching two structured training courses designed to meet the needs of the professional market and raise the standards of safety and technical compliance in projects and asset operation. The new courses,“Electric Vehicle Charging – Installation and Technical Standards” and“Safety in Electrical Work (e-learning)”, are aimed at installers, designers, operation technicians and maintenance managers seeking practical, up-to-date technical knowledge.
Electric Mobility and Technical Standards: A Challenge for the Industry
Electric mobility is one of the fastest-growing segments of Portugal’s electrical infrastructure sector, requiring specialised expertise beyond conventional electrical installations. The“Electric Vehicle Charging – Installation and Technical Standards” course focuses on providing the technical skills needed to implement safe and resilient charging systems.
This course covers the current technical standards and regulations governing low-voltage electrical installations, while exploring charging modes, socket and connector types, and protection systems against overcurrents and overvoltages. Particular attention is given to circuit sizing and load management, both essential to preventing local grid instability and ensuring the long-term performance of equipment. For designers and installers, this training provides a significant competitive advantage, enabling them to deliver solutions that fully comply with legislation while ensuring end-user safety. The resilience of charging infrastructure depends on the quality of its installation, and this course provides the technical expertise required to prevent overheating, insulation failures and electrical network imbalances within buildings.
Electrical Safety as a Pillar of Resilience
Safety is the first requirement of any resilient system. The new“Safety in Electrical Work” course, available in an e-learning format, has been developed to address the critical need to prevent occupational risks in electrical environments. The training focuses on essential safety procedures for professionals working in low-, medium- and high-voltage installations.
The course content covers risk assessment, safety distances, the use of personal and collective protective equipment, and intervention protocols in the event of an accident. Through the e-learning format, Academia Rolear provides flexible access to this knowledge without compromising technical rigour. For professionals, the benefits are twofold: a significant reduction in accident risks and increased confidence when carrying out maintenance and network operation tasks. A professional who understands electrical risks and preventive measures is key to ensuring a safer and more reliable electrical network, less prone to failures caused by human error.
Training as a Benefit for the Professional Ecosystem
For installers, designers and engineers, these courses translate into greater technical autonomy, fewer errors and improved project predictability. Mastery of safety procedures and technical standards enhances the quality of proposals while improving communication with inspectors and regulatory entities.
For individual professionals, the training strengthens technical authority and increases the value of their service portfolio in an increasingly competitive and regulated market. For companies, investing in team qualification leads to greater productivity, reduced costs associated with rework or corrective maintenance, and, above all, improved safety for people and assets. Specialisation in electrical safety and charging infrastructure enables professionals to anticipate customer needs and provide technical consultancy that adds real value to projects. By mastering technical standards, professionals reduce the risk of legal and technical non-compliance, ensuring that electrical network resilience begins with rigorous design and execution.

Rolear contributes to strengthening energy efficiency in an industrial setting
Photovoltaic project at Necton reinforces Grupo Rolear’s commitment to integrated energy solutions
Grupo Rolear, through Rolear Mais, recently took part in the implementation of a photovoltaic self-consumption project at the Necton facilities in Olhão. This is a case that highlights the potential of solar energy in optimising energy consumption in an industrial environment.
Necton – Companhia Portuguesa de Culturas Marinhas operates with a demanding energy profile, driven by the need for continuous operation of high‑power equipment, particularly refrigeration systems essential to microalgae production. This context clearly demonstrated the importance of a solution capable of reducing dependence on the electrical grid while improving energy efficiency.
A phased, scalable solution tailored to the client’s needs
The project was implemented in two distinct phases, following the evolution of Necton’s energy requirements.
In the first phase, a self-consumption production unit (UPAC) with a capacity of 166 kWp was installed, integrating high‑efficiency photovoltaic modules and inverters. Subsequently, in response to increasing operational needs, the installation was expanded, reaching a total capacity of approximately 354 kWp, with reinforcement of equipment, structures and monitoring systems.
This progressive approach reflects one of the main advantages of photovoltaic solutions: scalability, allowing the system to grow in line with the client’s activity.
Technical integration and execution challenges
The system’s implementation took into account specific technical and environmental requirements arising from the location of the facilities within the sensitive area of the Ria Formosa Natural Park. These constraints required adapted construction solutions without permanent ground fixation.
In addition to the photovoltaic installation, the project also involved an intervention at the transformation substation, including reinforcement of protection and monitoring systems, as well as the reorganisation of electrical infrastructures, ensuring full compliance with grid requirements.
Throughout this process, Necton’s operations were maintained without interruption, supported by temporary energy solutions, which demonstrates Grupo Rolear’s ability to deliver complex projects without compromising the client’s activity.
Solar energy supporting competitiveness
This project represents an important step in Necton’s strategy to reduce energy costs and improve operational efficiency, while reinforcing its commitment to more sustainable practices.
For Rolear Mais, as a technical distributor with strong expertise in renewable energy, this case demonstrates the ability to:
A benchmark for the sector
The project developed for Necton is a clear example of how photovoltaic solar energy can be strategically applied in an industrial context, combining efficiency, flexibility and sustainability.
For industry professionals looking to elevate the standard of their projects, Rolear offers the assurance of a diverse portfolio and the support of specialised technical teams, helping to build a future where energy efficiency and operational reliability go hand in hand.
